Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta should be working with an identical selection of players for Sunday’s Premier League top-of-the-table clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

The Gunners are reeling from a devastating 3-1 aggregate loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-finals, having succumbed to a 2-1 defeat in Wednesday’s second leg at the Parc des Princes.

However, two positives from that reverse were the returns of Italian duo Riccardo Calafiori and Jorginho from injuries, leaving Gabriel Jesus (knee), Gabriel Magalhaes (hamstring), Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee) and Kai Havertz (hamstring) in the medical bay.

Calafiori may consider himself a genuine option to replace Jakub Kiwior at centre-back or Myles Lewis-Skelly at left-back, especially after the latter endured a particularly challenging evening in Paris.

As Calafiori is still building his fitness back up, though, Lewis-Skelly should reprise his role at left-back, where the 18-year-old will face one of the toughest tests of his embryonic career so far in Mohamed Salah.

David Raya, Kiwior and William Saliba will aid Lewis-Skelly in that daunting task, but Jurrien Timber‘s recent knock could see Arteta side with Ben White on Merseyside.

White for Timber should be the only change that the Gunners boss considers, though, as Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice and Thomas Partey are immovable in the middle, while Gabriel Martinelli‘s spritely display in Paris should see him hold off Leandro Trossard.

Arsenal possible starting lineup:
Raya; White, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Merino, Martinelli
