Bayern Munich has a plan (maybe)…

Bayern Munich is reportedly looking for ways to cut costs — and might have solved one problem.

It was rumored that the club was open to the idea of Serge Gnabry being Harry Kane’s backup, which would alleviate one expense for the summer transfer window. Now, per Sport Bild’s Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl (via @iMiaSanMia), Gnabry is willing to accept that role as well:

@altobelli13 & @cfbayern confirm Sky’s report that Bayern are considering relying on Serge Gnabry as the ‘internal back-up’ for Harry Kane next season instead of spending money on a new striker. Gnabry is also open to taking on this role since he has no intention of leaving the club this summer.

If true, this seems to follow the information that has been flowing of late — Gnabry does not want to leave Bayern Munich. While Gnabry is not the ideal replacement for Kane (either in profile or ability), it would help Bayern Munich address other transfers (like Florian Wirtz and a center-back).
