Arsenal locked horns with Liverpool at Anfield earlier this evening as they focused on securing a victory on the road in the Premier League. The Gunners made a poor start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 20th minute when Cody Gakpo scored from close range. Luis Diaz doubled the home team’s lead just a minute later as Mikel Arteta’s men went into the half-time break 2-0 down on the scoreline.
Gabriel Martinelli got a goal back for the North London club in the 47th minute before Mikel Merino equalised in the 70th minute. However, the Spaniard was sent off just nine minutes later but Arsenal hung on to secure a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Merseyside.
