How Mo Salah instantly reacted after hearing Trent Alexander-Arnold getting booed by Liverpool fans vs Arsenal

4 Min Read

Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold would have loved to help Liverpool get over the line in their eventual 2-2 draw against Arsenal as the pair were playing one of their final games together.

However, a 10-man Arsenal side managed to hold on right until the end as the Reds had to share the spoils with the visitors after blowing away a two-goal lead.

But the main talking point from the game was neither the result nor the Gunners’ spirited comeback but Trent Alexander-Arnold getting booed by Liverpool fans after coming on as a second-half substitute.

Andy Robertson was unhappy seeing Alexander-Arnold getting booed as the Englishman is his “best friend” in football and has been crucial to the Reds’ rousing success over the years.

However, some Liverpool fans have turned on Alexander-Arnold — as he is set to become a Real Madrid player very soon after announcing his exit from his boyhood club.

Mohamed Salah told Liverpool fans to stop booing Trent Alexander-Arnold

Salah is Alexander-Arnold’s best friend and as a result, he would perhaps be helping one of his closest mates in dealing with all the stick that he has received from some Liverpool fans at least.

It seems like the relationship between the supporters and the West Derby-born right-back is a complicated one and will continue to divide opinion until time heals all the wounds.

After Liverpool drew to Arsenal, Salah was spotted waving his arms after hearing boos towards Alexander-Arnold and suggesting the home support to stop giving the two-time Premier League winner stick.

Alexander-Arnold respects Salah as a player but the Egyptian might go up in his estimations for how he has publicly backed him.

The 32-year-old seems to have accepted that the revered defender is set to take a new path and respects his wishes, recently sending his teammate a classy message on social media as well.

What Mikel Arteta said to Trent Alexander-Arnold after Liverpool vs Arsenal

But Salah is a player and as a result, he perhaps understands Alexander-Arnold’s wish to leave Liverpool in favour of representing arguably the biggest club in the world in Real Madrid.

However, not all the fans seem to have come around to that idea.

Mikel Arteta spoke to Viaplay after Arsenal faced Liverpool and he revealed that he simply congratulated Alexander-Arnold for becoming a Premier League champion once again after the pair were spotted chatting.

“I congratulate all of the players for that because they deserve it.”

Arteta concluded: “They have been the best team and I am sure they have put a lot of work and joy into that title and they deserve to be congratulated.”
