Well, this would suck…
Bayern Munich looked as if it would be easily able to snare Florian Wirtz this summer…until Tuesday when Manchester City thrust itself into the mix.
Always rumored to be enamored with Wirtz, reports indicated that Wirtz flew to Manchester for a visit, and that Pep Guardiola’s club might be willing to just meet Bayer Leverkusen’s steep asking price of €150 million — something that Bayern Munich seems reluctant to do.
The Bavarians were rumored to be kicking around an offer of €100 million, which might not cut the mustard.
It would be a sad state of affairs if Bayern Munich’s transfer season was defined by a plotpoint from Jerry Maguire.
Anyway…what do you think? Will Manchester City steal Wirtz…or is Hans Wirtz’s — alleged — word really like…oak?
