Real Madrid in Dean Huijsen talks for months as Bournemouth ace prefers Spain move

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can reveal that Real Madrid have been talking to Dean Huijsen and his camp for ‘months’.

In addition, they have never been worried about the player being rushed into a ‘quick’ deal.

Bournemouth are pushing to get Huijsen out of the door at the Vitality Stadium as soon as possible which enables them to line up his replacement.

Huijsen has a £50million release clause, which will be paid in instalments – which underlines the fact that Madrid are more than able to finance a deal.

It was claimed in some parts of the English media that Madrid were not in contention, as Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all made early moves to try and land Huijsen.

However, TBR Football is told that Madrid were in talks with Huijsen throughout this period.

That said, the offers on the table from the Premier League clubs are described as ‘interesting’ and ‘tempting’ by Huijsen’s camp.

The player himself is believed to be flattered by the interest, and has not ruled out the prospect of staying in England.

However, the newly capped Spanish star does have a preference for a move to his now native Spain.

Atletico Madrid also held talks, but their attention has since turned to Tottenham’s Cristian Romero – meaning his only option in La Liga is realistically Real Madrid.

What Xabi Alonso thinks about potentially bringing Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid

TBR Football is told that new Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has initially backed their plans which does include a new central defender.

Huijsen is top of their list, which has also included his former Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah, Real also love Arsenal’s William Saliba.

However, Los Blancos know that a deal for the Gunners star this summer is not an option.

Huijsen, for his part, has insisted to all parties that he won’t be rushed, but he is not expected to take too long in deciding his next club.
