Real Madrid in transfer talks with Bournemouth over Dean Huijsen fee structure

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can confirm that Real Madrid have opened talks with Bournemouth over terms for Dean Huijsen.

Real Madrid have confirmed to Bournemouth that they will pay his release clause, and they are now talking with Bournemouth over how they want the deal to be paid.

Bournemouth have indicated to all interested parties that they would be willing to take the £50million over three payments – and now the details are being discussed with Real Madrid.

As TBR Football revealed on Wednesday, Real have been in talks with Huijsen’s camp for months and now they are making their move.

They had been waiting to finalise their deal with Xabi Alonso as head coach and now they have stepped up to finalise terms with Huijsen – who has always favoured a move to the Spanish capital.

Why Dean Huijsen is so highly sought after

At just 20 years of age, Huijsen has already made 30 appearances for Bournemouth and has looked a cut above most of his peers – not just his age, but at all levels – this season.

Huijsen is a modern-day centre-back who excels in both defending and moving the ball up the pitch. He shines in aerial duels, interceptions, and is a forward-thinking passer.

Football Talent Scout’s Jacek Kulig previously described Huijsen as the “complete package”, while Kepa Arrizabalaga rated Huijsen above the likes of Milos Kerkez at Bournemouth.

The likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal will no doubt be keeping tabs on the situation and they will not want to lose Huijsen.

Sadly for them, the allure of Real Madrid may just prove too much.
