Unless you’re Barcelona, how can you not love Thomas Müller?

One of the biggest stories of the season has been the confirmation of Thomas Müller’s exit from Bayern Munich at the end of the campaign. A lot has been, and will continue to be, said about the nature of the looming departure, poor handling of the situation by the Bayern executives, and on a more positive note, the status Müller holds as a player and personality in the game.

In a recent interview with the Bundesliga (captured via @iMiaSanMia), Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface shared his thoughts and feelings surrounding Müller, saying, “I think he’s a great, great football player, and a great guy in general. After a game, sometimes he would come to me and tell me I played well and to keep it up. For a player like him to say that – big respect. Outside of football, I see him as a funny individual like me as well, so I respect him.”

Müller is beloved by Bayern fans and colleagues alike, but it’s always nice to see how much his opponents appreciate him as well. Müller often seems to take the time to complement his rivals, and has built a bit of a reputation when it comes to encouraging younger players in the Bundesliga. Last season, he went public with his admiration for former Mainz attacker Brajan Gruda, taking to Instagram to compliment the player. Müller’s praise for Boniface, and the Nigerian’s tasteful comments can be added to a long list of wholesome Thomas Müller moments.
