‘Fantastic’: Kyle Walker says £32m defender Liverpool want ‘looks a great player’

Liverpool are set to be busy in the summer transfer window, with full-backs high on their agenda.

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey recently revealed that Liverpool are “looking to bring in a new left-back, a new centre-back, and maybe a right-back.”

While Jeremie Frimpong has been heavily linked with Liverpool in recent days, the Reds have been eyeing a number of full-backs ahead of the summer.

Kyle Walker has now spoken about a Premier League-based full-back on Liverpool’s radar, who he has said “looks like a great player”.

Kyle Walker hails ‘great’ Liverpool target Tino Livramento

Back in March, it was reported that Liverpool were eyeing Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento.

The Magpies ace has been key for Eddie Howe’s side this season, helping them win the Carabao Cup and remain in contention for a Champions League spot.

Walker, speaking on the Kyle Walker podcast, spoke about Livramento when discussing the full-back spots up for grabs in the England team.

“Going back, in the England team it was me and Nathaniel Clyne,” said the Manchester City loanee.

“You also have Tino who’s at Newcastle who shouldn’t be disregarded, he’s had a fantastic season and looks like a great player.”

How Tino Livramento and Jeremie Frimpong compare

Liverpool are said to be closing in on a move for Frimpong as a replacement for Alexander-Arnold, who is set to leave Anfield for Real Madrid.

However, there could also be room for Tino Livramento – who cost Newcastle £32million – in the Reds squad, as he can also play at left-back.

While Frimpong is a superb attacking option for Liverpool, Livramento would be a more rounded option in terms of defending as well as attacking.

Admittedly, it might be difficult for Liverpool to get their hands on Livramento purely because of the fact they’ll likely be in the Champions League next season.

Nonetheless, the Reds could certainly make some enquiries and see if the allure of potentially playing for the champions could turn his head.

Academy graduate Conor Bradley is also in the picture – Arne Slot recently shared what Bradley said to him that left him surprised.
