Kyle Walker says Chelsea have an ‘incredible’ player who is like him, Alexander-Arnold and Trippier combined

Chelsea have enjoyed a decent season as they remain in contention for a spot in next season’s Champions League along with reaching the Europa Conference League final.

Admittedly, some Chelsea fans haven’t been overly impressed by Enzo Maresca this season, but for the most part, the team seems to be going in the right direction.

Chelsea’s team features plenty of top talents, and Kyle Walker has now spoken highly about one of their players.

The Manchester City loanee – currently with AC Milan – claimed that said Blues player is an “incredible” talent who’s like a mix of himself and two other England stars.

Kyle Walker hails ‘incredible’ Chelsea captain Reece James

The player in question is Reece James, Chelsea’s captain and one of the best right-backs in the Premier League.

Walker, speaking on the Kyle Walker Podcast, spoke about how England’s right-backs are “all different”.

Then, he claimed that James is like a mix of himself, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Kieran Trippier.

Walker then lauded James’ “incredible” set-piece skills as well as deeming him “very balanced” both in attack and defence.

“I think we’re all different, if you were to mix me, Trent and Tripps together you’d get Reece James,” said Walker.

“His delivery from set-plays and crossing is incredible. Defending and attacking, he’s very, very balanced.”

Is Reece James fit for the end-of-season run-in?

James’ campaign has been disrupted by injury, but he has featured for much of this calendar year without too many issues.

However, James was a doubt for Friday’s meeting with Manchester United after missing training earlier in the week.

Maresca has played down any issues, confirming on Thursday that he had since returned to training.

“Reece is okay,” Maresca told reporters.

“He was ill so he was out for Tuesday’s session but yesterday he had the session with us.”

James is a player of the highest calibre and Chelsea will be keen to have him firing on all cylinders for the last three games of the season.

Christopher Nkunku remains the only player sidelined for Chelsea ahead of Friday night’s Premier League game at Stamford Bridge.

However, Marc Guiu is also unlikely to return in time, despite making good progress in training.
