West Ham lineup vs. Nottingham Forest: Predicted XI for Premier League clash as Lucas Paqueta returns

2 Min Read

West Ham United manager Graham Potter has confirmed that he expects to be working with an identical squad for Sunday’s Premier League showdown with Nottingham Forest at the London Stadium.

The Irons are on cloud nine after a momentous 2-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend, and none of the starters from that victory deserve to lose their place.

However, it would be a surprise not to see a well-rested Lucas Paqueta come back into the fold in the number 10 role, in turn pushing Tomas Soucek further back and demoting Guido Rodriguez to the bench.

Paqueta will expect to work in tandem with Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen, the latter of whom hopes to become the first Hammers player since Jesse Lingard in 2021 to score in four successive Premier League home games.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka ran Man United ragged from a left wing-back position last weekend and will surely reprise that role on Sunday, allowing Vladimir Coufal to continue on the right.

James Ward-Prowse will be waiting to welcome Soucek to the double pivot, while Aaron Cresswell, Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman ought to protect Alphonse Areola at the back again.

Only Crysencio Summerville (hamstring) and Michail Antonio (leg) are absent through injury for the Irons this weekend.

West Ham United possible starting lineup:
Areola; Cresswell, Kilman, Todibo; Coufal, Soucek, Ward-Prowse, Wan-Bissaka; Paqueta; Bowen, Kudus
