Bournemouth lineup vs. Man City: Predicted XI for Premier League clash as Andoni Iraola makes one change

2 Min Read

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola is expected to recall Justin Kluivert to his starting lineup for Tuesday’s Premier League showdown with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The Cherries’ top-seven hopes evaporated in last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Aston Villa, where Alex Scott was left with a broken jaw after being caught by a stray elbow from Tyrone Mings.

The former Bristol City starlet is now on the road to recovery from surgery, joining Dango Ouattara (adductor), Luis Sinisterra (thigh), Ryan Christie (groin) and Enes Unal (knee) in the medical bay.

With Scott sidelined, Lewis Cook and Tyler Adams will form the double pivot, while Kluivert is sure to return to his rightful number 10 role in an otherwise untouched forward line.

Marcus Tavernier and Antoine Semenyo provide the wide threat as ever, while Evanilson aims to maintain a strong away streak, having managed five goals in each of his last five Premier League starts on the road.

At the other end of the pitch, Dean Huijsen is now confirmed to be a Real Madrid player from June 1, but the £50m Spaniard remains contracted to Bournemouth for the time being and is sure to man the backline here.

Whether Milos Kerkez follows Huijsen out of the door remains to be seen, but the Hungary international is also primed to play alongside Adam Smith, Ilya Zabarnyi and Kepa Arrizabalaga in an unchanged rearguard setup.

Bournemouth possible starting lineup:
Kepa; Smith, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Cook, Adams; Semenyo, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evanilson
