Danica Patrick began her professional racing career in 2005 when she participated in Toyota Indy 300. Patrick also competed in NASCAR races between 2010 to 2018. Danica Patrick has plenty of records to her name, but one wonders whether she completed a pole in a race. Patrick won the pole position five times in different racing events.

Did Danica Patrick Win a Pole Position in her Career?

Danica Patrick finished pole position five times in her professional racing career and she was the first female driver to secure a pole in NASCAR. She won her first pole position as a rookie in 2005 where she also made her debut. Danica Patrick earned three pole positions in the 2005 IndyCar Series out of 17 races she participated.

Winning a pole position is a challenge for NASCAR drivers, but Patrick has finished twice in NASCAR history. Patrick won her first NASCAR pole position in NASCAR Nationwide Series 2012 where she competed in 33 races and secured 10th position. She won the pole position with her No.7 Chevrolet in the Daytona 300 (NASCAR Xfinity Series) for team JR Motorsports.

In 2013, Danica Patrick created another record by becoming the first female racer to complete a pole position in the Daytona 500. Patrick also became the first female driver to start the NASCAR race from the pole after achieving it.

Patrick’s 2013 pole position topped the headlines and she won the pole with a speed of 196.43 MPH. Patrick was always nervous about winning the pole position and here is what she said after winning one. “When the pressure is on and when the spotlight is on, they ultimately become some of my better moments”.

Danica Patrick also became the first rookie after Jimmie Johnson to win the pole position at Daytona 500. In 2005, she won the pole positions in the IndyCar series in Kansas, Kentucky, and Chicagoland. As a rookie, she secured three pole positions and winning pole at Kansas in 2005 has always been her favorite.
