Real Madrid hasn’t officially announced Carlo Ancelotti‘s departure yet, but his first preliminary squad list as Brazil’s head coach has already been leaked.
According to Globoesporte, the list includes around 50 names, which must be trimmed down to 23 players for Brazil’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador (June 6) and Paraguay (June 11).
One of the biggest surprises is the inclusion of Igor Paixão, the Feyenoord forward who has 18 goals and 19 assists this season but has yet to make his senior debut for the national team.
Also making headlines are the possible returns of Neymar, who missed the last call-up due to injury, and Oscar, now 33 years old, who recently returned to Brazil to play for São Paulo after spending eight years with Shanghai Port in China. Despite speculation, Casemiro’s name has not appeared on the leaked list—at least not yet.
Notably, the list includes six Flamengo players: Wesley, Léo Ortiz, Gerson, Alex Sandro, Pedro, and former Real Madrid fullback Danilo.
The final 23-man squad will be officially announced on June 26, although the CBF must notify clubs at least 15 days in advance, in accordance with FIFA regulations.
Barring injuries or surprises, Ancelotti’s first official list is expected to feature Real Madrid stars Rodrygo, Vinícius, and Endrick, along with Barcelona’s Raphinha.
