Liverpool could be set for a busy summer transfer window.

Newly-crowned Premier League champions Liverpool could be faced with a transfer problem ahead of the summer window.

After a brilliant first season under Arne Slot, Liverpool sealed their 20th top flight title last month after beating Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at Anfield.

Looking ahead, it has been widely reported that the Reds will look to add more quality to their squad.

With the 24/25 season coming to a close this weekend, it has already been claimed that Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong, who will fill the soon-to-be vacant role left by the outgoing Trent Alexander-Arnold.

In addition, Liverpool are also interested in Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez and Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.

However, Liverpool are said to be hit with a problem when it comes to transfers, in particular when they unveil new signings.

Usually, new players would pose in next season’s kit but players signing for Liverpool before August 1 could find themselves having to wear the club’s current kits.

Liverpool are changing their kit suppliers from Nike to Adidas, but the deal does not happen until August 1.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Liverpool could be set for an awkward situation.

The report stated: “The club will switch kit suppliers to adidas in a deal worth more than £60million a season to the club – but the move does not officially happen until August 1.

“This means not only will the Reds have to play in their current Nike shirts in the pre-season friendlies against AC Milan and Yokohama F Marinos in Hong Kong and Japan – but new signings may have to pose for pictures in the old kits.”

This week, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano gave an update on Liverpool’s pursit of Kerkez.

He wrote on social media: “Understand Liverpool have contacted Bournemouth for Milos Kerkez deal with talks now advancing! Liverpool are also completing the agreement on personal terms with Kerkez, keen on the move. Negotiations underway between clubs on transfer fee.”
