Liverpool fans share their brutally honest thoughts about Jurgen Klopp after his Trent Alexander-Arnold comments

Jurgen Klopp has jumped to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s defence after he was booed by Liverpool fans recently.

The Englishman has been in the news all season because of his contract situation. He entered the final year of his deal last July, and despite Liverpool’s attempts to extend his stay, an agreement could not be reached.

Alexander-Arnold will leave Anfield on a free transfer this summer, and many Reds fans have expressed their displeasure about the situation.

After hearing boos directed at Alexander-Arnold, Klopp had a go at Liverpool fans at a charity gala on Friday night.

He said, as per BBC: “I don’t tell you you should not be angry, you should not be disappointed, I tell you don’t forget. This club doesn’t forget.

“I watched the game when he came on, and I heard the booing. I switched the telly [television] off. Honestly, I could not have been more disappointed at this moment.”

Liverpool fans react to Jurgen Klopp’s comments on Trent Alexander-Arnold

Many Liverpool fans, including Jamie Carragher, have been very vocal about rival fans questioning their decision to criticise Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Now, the club’s greatest manager of the modern era has defended the England star, and that has not gone down too well among some Liverpool supporters.

One Liverpool fan said: “Klopp is right about how much Trent has done for us, but he just doesn’t get the fan point of view here.”

Another tweeted: “I love Jurgen, he will remain one of our greatest managers ever and he’s an amazing human, but here I will disagree. We would have been disappointed and/or angry regardless of the way Trent leaves, yet he still could have done it much gracefully.”

“Sorry Jurgen, love you, but fans are right to express their emotions,” wrote another.

Another disappointed Liverpool fan said: “Jurgen Klopp is starting to lose the plot here, he must just leave the fans. TAA betrayed us in the end, and he’s getting what he deserves. Leaving on a free as a 26-year-old when he knows the club he claims to love could have benefited from his transfer fee is bang on selfishness.”

“Ahh, thanks for the opinion, but I don’t think the fans are in the wrong. I honour Klopp and am grateful for everything he has done for the club, but he’s wrong,” tweeted another.

Jurgen Klopp will be at Anfield to see Liverpool lift the Premier League title

Liverpool take on Crystal Palace at Anfield in the final game of the season.

The Reds officially became the champions of England a few weeks ago, but it’s on Sunday that they will get to lift the Premier League title.

Klopp is in Liverpool and will be in attendance to witness the occasion, and he will see first-hand how the Anfield faithful will react to Alexander-Arnold’s final day on the pitch.

It was difficult for the defender the last time he played there, but considering this will be his final appearance as a Red, it will be interesting to see how the fans will treat him.

Klopp will surely be hoping to see Alexander-Arnold get a good send-off.
