Uh….
In one of the most curious transfer situations going on right now, Bayern Munich star Leroy Sané has rejected the club’s offer and — allegedly — not received a proposal from any other clubs.
Per Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), though, Bayern Munich could actually be contemplating upping its offer to the winger after days of insisting it would not:
Bayern have resumed talks with Leroy Sané. Internally, it’s no longer ruled out that the offer would be improved or that the ratio between fixed salary and bonuses will be changed. Bayern are currently offering a base salary of €10 million plus €5.5 million in bonuses. Pini Zahavi is in good contact with Bayern and would like €12-13 million in fixed salary for his client.
Is this a knee-jerk reaction to losing the battle for Florian Wirtz to Liverpool FC? Is Bayern Munich starting to panic?
Whatever the case, fans could be getting another three seasons of Sané competing for playing time at wing.
The news that Bayern Munich had coughed up the Florian Wirtz transfer was shocking. Even more stunning was that it was Liverpool FC, who ultimately won the Germany international’s heart. So…what next? Let’s rehash how it all went down, why it happened, and then talk about what might on tap next for the Bavarians, who have to start their transfer dealings all over again.
