Bayern Munich dropped points…

Bayern Munich defender Josip Stanišić teamed with Eric Dier, Dayot Upamecano, and Alphonso Davies to put forth a strong defensive effort during the team’s 1-1 draw with Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.

For Stanišić, the dropped points represented a lost opportunity.

“We were too sloppy up front. Unfortunately, we didn’t get much out of many situations, but you could see that everyone wanted to. At the end of the day, we made two crucial mistakes in our last two Bundesliga games. Of course, you make mistakes in every game, but these were two that cost us dearly,” said Stanišić (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “As a team, we have to try to finish these games, even with a 1-0 win. I don’t think we’ve made that much wrong. But at the moment, every mistake in the Bundesliga is being punished.

“We’re lacking that bit of luck at the moment. With a bit more luck we won’t be talking about one point from two games, but about six points. The positive thing is that the team gave it their all, even though Union Berlin defended with eleven men within 20 meters for almost 90 minutes. That makes it difficult for us when we can’t play our style of football.”

The Bavarians will now regroup during the international break and try to come back healthy in hopes of getting back on track in the Bundesliga.
