Nottingham Forest are planning to splash out in the summer transfer window if they secure Champions league qualification.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly planning two stunning transfers in the summer window if they secure Champions League qualification.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are having a dream season in the Premier League this season and currently find themselves flying high in third place after 29 games played.

Many had been waiting for Forest to drop off at some point but it has not happened and their unique brand of football continues to bring success, with the East Midlands outfit five points clear of Chelsea and six points clear of Manchester City.

Given England are likely to have five spots in next season’s Champions League, Forest are in a very good position to return to European football for the first time since 1981.

It would be a monumental achievement given they finished 17th and six points above relegation last season and reports claim that they are preparing to splash out in the transfer window this summer.

According to TEAMTalk, Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is willing to go big to ensure the club progress and has his sights on a top-level striker.

Chris Wood has been in fine form for Forest, scoring 18 goals but it’s claimed the club have been looking at both Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen, two of the most lethal frontmen in world football.

Gyokeres is arguably the most sought after striker in world football with 40 goals and 10 assists in 41 games for Sporting CP, while Osimhen has found the net on 26 times after signing on loan for Galatasaray from Napoli.

The Nigerian could not seal a permanent exit but is expected to leave in the summer. His release clause is at £63 million, which means Forest would have to pay a club-record fee in addition to a significant salary.

Though they will have to be wary of PSR regulations after previous issues, Forest intend on strengthening further and are also said to be keeping tabs on Wolves‘ Mateus Cunha and Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham, younger brother of Real Madrid star Jude.

Forest are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Brighton in the FA Cup quarter finals, with a win booking a spot in the semi finals at Wembley.
