So long and thanks for all the titles.

This could be it for Kingsley Coman at Bayern Munich.

From Sky Sport DE journalist Florian Plettenberg, as captured by @iMiaSanMia:

Kingsley Coman has informed Bayern that he wants to leave the club. Saudi clubs are serious about signing Coman – and there will be a visit to Munich from a Saudi delegation to hold talks. Arsenal are also showing concrete interest in Coman. Tottenham are monitoring the situation [@Plettigoal]

BFW Analysis

It is probably time.

Coman has enjoyed a long and successful tenure at Bayern. While he never evolved into the full package, he was always a one-on-one threat par excellence on the wings, and relied upon as such by a succession of managers. Hansi Flick, Julian Nagelsmann, Thomas Tuchel, and now Vincent Kompany…all rated him and all played him, despite his tendency to go for the moonshot (literally).

If Coman can find a satisfactory home, it will be major wages off the books and at least a token transfer fee for the Bavarians, who can in turn get younger at the wings.

But be careful what you wish for — Bayern does not have another player of his like on the wings at the moment and they are not easy to find. His absence will for sure be felt, especially if Bayern opts to go for a different kind of profile in a replacement.
