A number of Premier League clubs will be in the market for a new striker this summer.
Indeed, this summer is going to be all about number nines as top Premier League sides search to bolster their frontline.
Arsenal are going to sign a striker, while Darwin Nunez is set to leave Liverpool, so there could be an opening at Anfield too.
Meanwhile, Manchester United and Chelsea also need a striker.
Viktor Gyokeres has been linked with numerous Premier League clubs.
Arsenal are keen on Gyokeres, while Ruben Amorim already has a strong relationship with Gyokeres from their time together at Sporting.
Interestingly, according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on The Done Deal show, Arsenal are more likely to move for Viktor Gyokeres than United at the moment.
Arsenal more likely to move for Viktor Gyokeres than Manchester United
Jacobs spoke about the £67m man and where he could end up this summer.
The journalist says Gyokeres is more likely to join Arsenal than United, claiming that United may not be able to afford this move due to the fact the Red Devils are pressing to sign Matheus Cunha early in the transfer window.
“Make no mistake, he is a contender there and with Gyokeres it’s still more likely that Arsenal will move than Manchester United. People want to make that link between Ruben Amorim and Gyokeres, but Manchester United have to be able to afford that deal, but it will be difficult for United to get both Cunha and Gyokeres early in the window and Gyokeres is one I expect to move quickly,” Jacobs said.
Viktor Gyokeres’ record under Ruben Amorim
Jacobs says that the link between Gyokeres and Ruben Amorim is appealing from the outside looking in, and he’s not wrong.
Indeed, while Gyokeres is more likely to end up at the Emirates than Old Trafford, there’s an argument to make he’d be more likely to succeed at United.
While Manchester United are a mess at the moment, Gyokeres played the best football of his career under Amorim, as the stats show.

Games | 68 |
Goals | 66 |
Assists | 23 |
Unfortunately, it sounds as though Gyokeres won’t get a chance to reunite with Amorim in Manchester, but, he could well end up in England with Arsenal this summer if all goes to plan.
Gyokeres should be a real hit in the Premier League considering his record in Portugal, but it remains to be seen where he ends up this summer.
