Andrea Berta is working really hard behind the scenes at Arsenal to sign new players.

The Italian was appointed as the club’s new sporting director at the end of March, and his job is to help take Arsenal to a whole new level.

Berta is incredibly experienced at the top level. He did an outstanding job at Atletico Madrid for over a decade, and formed a fantastic network of contacts.

Now, he has reached out to one of his old rivals in Spain to enquire about signing their player.

Andrea Berta makes contact with Real Madrid to sign Rodrygo for Arsenal

Rodrygo Goes could be a big name on the market this summer.

The Brazilian has been one of Real Madrid’s most important players over the years, but his popularity, for one reason or another, is not as high as that of the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham.

TBR Football revealed in May that Rodrygo is not fully happy at Real Madrid, and he could be on the move in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Arsenal have been linked with Rodrygo, and the first move has been made.

GiveMeSport have revealed that Berta has made contact with Real Madrid to find out if Arsenal can sign the Brazil international this summer.

During those conversations, it became ‘clear’ that the Galacticos will demand at least £80 million to sell Rodrygo now.

What does Mikel Arteta think about Rodrygo Goes?

Mikel Arteta demanded a new attacker in the January transfer window after injuries to key players, but the Arsenal board let him down.

Andrea Berta is set to grant his wish this summer, and Real Madrid star Rodrygo is a definite target.

The report claims that ‘Arsenal particularly admire the big-game experience Rodrygo would be able to offer’ if they sign him this summer.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that Arteta thinks Rodrygo possesses a ‘game-changing ability’ that would take Arsenal to the ‘next level’.

It remains to be seen how this will pan out, but Rodrygo will only make a decision after speaking to Xabi Alonso when he arrives at Real Madrid.
