In this case, Max Eberl played bad cop for the Bayern Munich brass…

When it was reported that Bayern Munich players had already planned a trip to Ibiza after the RB Leipzig match, it rubbed some fans the wrong way — especially after the squad would only go on to play RB Leipzig to a 3-3 draw.

Kompany, though, said it was a non-issue for him, even though board member for sport Max Eberl had to put the kibosh on the trip.

“I haven’t thought about that for a second. We had a tough game against Leipzig to prepare. Maybe after [the title] I could have an opinion, but before that there was no discussion about a party. We’re not champions yet, so we have to wait,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).

When asked about if the monumental goal differential advantage has him already feeling like a champion, Kompany was not ready to take any pats on the back just yet.

“That was a discussion within the coaching staff after the game. I’m someone who says there’s still a 0.1% chance that we don’t win it, so we have to do our job and wait until the last moment. But we don’t all have the same opinion. I know we’re very close, but I want to keep the focus and win the remaining two games.”
