Real Madrid are eyeing a raid on Premier League giants as they look for ideal replacements for Luka Modric.
The Croatian magician will bring his incredible 13-year stint at Madrid to a close after the FIFA Club World Cup, with his contract ending this summer.
They have been very active in the transfer market so far, with Trent Alexander-Arnold set to join Real Madrid.
Madrid have also agreed a deal with Dean Huijsen and are now expected to further bolster their squad with a midfielder.
With Toni Kroos gone last year and Modric set to leave, Los Blancos face a significant void in midfield and they have turned their focus on Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City in an attempt to fill that void.
Real Madrid shortlist midfielders from Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City
Xabi Alonso is set to start his reign at Real Madrid this summer and has reportedly identified a few midfielders from the Premier League to bolster the squad.
According to AS, the Spanish giants have shortlisted Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister, Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez, and Manchester City’s Rodri.
Mac Allister has been linked with Real Madrid for a few months. The World Cup winner is one of Arne Slot’s most important players, but as shown in the past, it is hard to stay when Real Madrid comes knocking.
Having already caused quite a stir at Liverpool with the way they secured Alexander-Arnold, fans will be concerned with Real Madrid’s interest in Mac Allister.
However, Mac Allister has recently addressed the Madrid links, expressing his satisfaction at Liverpool for now.
The report claims that Madrid are monitoring him, and given that he has previously expressed his desire to play in La Liga before, which is why a move cannot be completely ruled out.
The report also mentions Enzo who Madrid are showing interest in, however, it states that signing him will require a sizeable fee due to the long-term contract the player has signed with Chelsea.
Another option on their list is Manchester City’s midfield maestro Rodri. The report suggests that he is Madrid’s main target, however, they will have to spend big to sign him, something Madrid are willing to do.

Rodri leads the stats after a standout 2023/24 season, but stylistically, Enzo would fit Madrid better as a vertical passer and tempo controller.
With a strong No. 6 like Tchouameni behind him, he could solve their midfield issues. That said, if Xabi Alonso prefers a single pivot, Rodri is the ideal midfield anchor.
