TBR Football can exclusively confirm what Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen sources are saying about Florian Wirtz ahead of a potential move to Anfield.
On Friday evening, reports began doing the rounds claiming that Liverpool were edging towards a move for Wirtz ahead of the likes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
Wirtz has made a name for himself as one of the best midfielders in the world and, at just 22 years of age, he’s still in the early days of his career.
TBR Football can reveal when Liverpool could finalise a deal for Wirtz, along with Leverkusen’s thoughts about their main asset closing in on a switch to Anfield.

Liverpool deal for Florian Wirtz could be wrapped up by Monday amid Bayer Leverkusen delight
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has revealed that Bayer Leverkusen are “delighted” that Florian Wirtz is edging towards a move to Liverpool instead of Bayern.
Indeed, Wirtz’s loyalty to Leverkusen has led to him snubbing one of their biggest rivals in the Bundesliga in favour of a move abroad, where he wouldn’t regularly go up against B04.
Bailey then revealed that sources have told him that the deal could potentially be wrapped up by Monday.
“Bayer Leverkusen, privately, are delighted that Wirtz has made this decision,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.
“I am told part of the reason for him making the decision to reject Bayern Munich was his loyalty to Leverkusen.
“Leverkusen didn’t want him to move to Munich and this will delight them.”
Bailey added: “This deal could be finalised by Monday, I am told.”
Liverpool fans believe Wirtz could be their ‘biggest ever’ signing.
The ‘huge summer’ on the cards at Liverpool
Liverpool haven’t wasted any time in pushing to strengthen their ranks this summer as they look to kick on after their Premier League title win.
The Reds will be eager to challenge on multiple fronts next season – and two new arrivals along with Giorgi Mamardashvili could soon be on the way.
The Mamardashvili deal was agreed last year, while Jeremie Frimpong is said to be closing in on a move to Liverpool along with Leverkusen teammate Wirtz.
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey recently confirmed that Liverpool are planning to make at least four signings, potentially five.
“Liverpool are going to have a huge summer, they are going to strike whilst the iron is hot,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football earlier this month.
